Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival

Burnaby’s Blues + Roots Festival finally returns to Deer Lake Park on Saturday, Aug. 6. Enjoy performances from the Grammy-award winning rock band The War on Drugs alongside Kathleen Edwards, The Soul Rebels, Ruby Waters, Balkan Shmalkan, and Robert Connely Farr.  Gates open at noon and the show starts at 1 pm. Tickets start at $50 and can be purchased online.

Burnaby/New West Thrift Crawl

Six stores in New Westminster and Burnaby are taking part in a thrift crawl, happening now until Aug. 15. You can start at any of the stores and collect a stamp card and get stamps at each of the six locations. You’ll then be entered to win prizes. The stores included in this thrift crawl are BASES Family Thrift Store, New to You Thrift Store, St. Barnabas Thrift Store, Treasure Chest, SPCA Thrift Store, and the Burnaby Hospice Society Thrift Store. BC Day at Burnaby Village Museum

Learn more about the history of Burnaby at the Burnaby Village Museum on BC Day this Aug. 1. There will be plenty of “activities, events and entertainment throughout the day” for you to enjoy.

Enjoy free outdoor performances at Confederation Park all the way until the end of August. Bring a picnic blanket or some lawn chairs and enjoy performances from musicians like The Wilson Gibbons Duo, The Josh Roberts Band, family square dance with Paul Silveria, and many more!

There is still plenty of time to enjoy this year’s Sounds Like Summer. There will be live music in plenty of different Burnaby parks weekly on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the day all the way until Sept. 4.
