A Burnaby woman is living the dream after winning the $10.9-million Lotto 6/49 jackpot.

Trang Dang bought her winning ticket from the Safeway on McBride Boulevard in New Westminster while she was waiting for a friend who was running late for their dinner plans.

Dang said that when she found out she won the May 28 draw, she was in disbelief.

“I was at home when I found out I won. I checked the draw results and questioned if these were the right numbers,” she said. “I couldn’t sleep that night!”

The first person she shared the big news with was her mom.

“My mom was very excited. She plays the lottery even more than me!” she said in a release.

Dang plans to spend some of her winnings on buying a new home and travelling to Europe.

As for how she feels about winning, Dang is definitely on cloud nine.

“It’s life changing and has made things so much easier,” she said.
