Beautiful gardens to check out in Burnaby
From parks to forests, Burnaby is home to so many green spaces and there are also several beautiful gardens in the city. If you’re a fan of colourful flowers, topiary, and trees, here’s a list of gardens in Burnaby that are definitely worth a visit any time of the year.
We’ve told you about this rose garden at the top of Burnaby Mountain before, and we definitely recommend you check it out before the cold weather settles in. It’s difficult to see from the parking lot of Burnaby Mountain Park, but if you make your way behind the washrooms you’ll be greeted by a beautiful rose garden. There are benches to sit and enjoy the flowers and an archway with flowers growing up the sides. The recent heat hasn’t been kind to the roses, but there are still some flowers around to make your trip worthwhile. From the rose garden, you can explore the rest of the park.

Millennium Garden
This garden can be easy to miss but it’s definitely one worth visiting if you’re at Burnaby City Hall. Millennium Garden was created to mark the beginning of a new millennium. While these aren’t technically gardens, the eco-sculptures take everything you find in a large garden space and condense it into some very cool structures. From owls to bees, eco-sculptures can be found all over Burnaby, and the city even has a helpful map so you can find them all.
Located right outside the museum grounds is a peaceful garden oasis. Featuring Japanese maples, a pond, plenty of topiary, and colourful blooms, this is a great place to visit after spending some time at the museum. Another great way to experience the garden is by visiting the Nikkei Garden Farmers Market, which runs on the second and fourth Sundays of the month until October from 10am to 2pmAddress: 6688 Southoaks Cres.
Eagles Estate Heritage Garden
This is another garden at Deer Lake to visit. The Eagles Estate Heritage Garden is 1.6-acre greenspace that was created in 1929 and designed by Frank E. Buck, a Canadian horticulturalist.Address: 5655 Sperling Ave.
