Best Burnaby ice cream spots you need to visit
Summer is upon us and we’re already thinking of all the ice cream we can indulge in when the sun’s out in full force. If you’re wondering where to get a scoop or two (or three) in Burnaby, we’ve got you covered.
These are some of the best ice cream spots in Burnaby.
This is definitely one of the places you MUST visit if you’re on the Burnaby ice cream tour. Glenburn takes you back to the ’50s with its nostalgic interior and delicious ice cream sundae flavours with a modern twist. If you’re not into sundaes, not to worry. Glenburn also serves up scoops of ice cream, floats, malts, milkshakes, and baked goods. Bonus: dairy-free options are on the menu. Currently, Glenburn is operating for take-out only.

A hidden gem along North Fraser Way, the Old Farmhouse kitchen is home to the Avalon Dairy retail store where you’ll also be able to pick up Avalon’s delicious ice cream. We recommend grabbing scoops of blueberry or chocolate and then heading to Foreshore Park to enjoy your ice cream with a beautiful view.
Address: 7985 N Fraser Way
This spot serves up handcrafted ice cream made with Avalon milk and then churned to create a creamy, smooth consistency. Choose from a variety of flavours including Honeycomb Peak, Salty Himalayan, and Mudslide. Milk bars and milkshakes are also on the menu.

Ok, we know that there is a slight difference between ice cream and gelato but they are both sweet, creamy, and cold confections so we’re adding gelato to the list. Nuvola Gelato is a must-visit spot in Burnaby Heights that serves up delectable gourmet flavours including Stracciatella, Tiramisu, Cioccolato al latte and much more. If you need another reason to go, Nuvola was started by Giorgio Barassi, who won the ‘Sherbeth Talent Show Best New Gelato Master in Cefalu,’ Italy, in 2012.

If you’re a fan of matcha and soft-serve ice cream, this is the place for you. This outpost, which is part of the larger Japanese Tsujiri chain, is known for its top-quality matcha treats. Try their soft-serve matcha ice cream if you’re looking for a cold treat that isn’t too sweet.
