World Dance Co. Burnaby

Salsa (the dance, not the kind you eat). Baked goods (the kind you eat, not the… other kind). What more could you want? Join World Dance Co. at 4858 Imperial St. tomorrow night, Dec. 9 at 9pm for a dance party, and bring some of your favourite baked goods to share! Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.

Lache Cercel City of Burnaby

Enjoy an evening of Roma Jazz as Lache Cercel performs a selection of holiday classics at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts on Dec. 9. Cercel, who is originally from Bucharest, merges Eastern influences with Western musicology to create the innovative Roma Jazz genre. He’ll be joined onstage by a selection of incredibly talented musicians, singers, and dancers.

Christmas market Burnaby

No need to go all the way to Vancouver to enjoy a beautiful, festive, and free Christmas market. St. Alban’s Anglican Church is hosting its second annual Outdoor Christmas Market this Saturday, Dec. 10 from 2-5pm. Browse through stalls selling delicious and homemade preserves, pies, loaves, and more!

Shopping and a show? What could be better? The fifth Venezuelan Christmas Bazaar, put on by the Venezuelan-Canadian Society of BC on Dec. 11 from 10am-5pm, is the perfect opportunity to get a start on your Christmas shopping and immerse yourself in Venezuelan culture. Admission is by donation (suggested amount: $5) and performances by live artists will begin at 11:30am.

Central Park Burnaby

Meet new people and take in the beautiful sights and sounds of Burnaby on a winter’s day! This walk on Dec. 13 from 10am-1pm, open to members of the Vancouver Venturer Club, will take you from the trails of Central Park all the way to Everett Crowley Park and Avalon Pond in Vancouver. Burnaby’s iconic Dageraad Brewing has teamed up with local-based Ginger and Bread to provide gingerbread house kits throughout December! Head to the tasting room near Production Way-University SkyTrain Station to build your dream house as you sip on one of Dageraad’s exciting new holiday releases. We’ll forgive you if the foundation of your gingerbread house is a tiny bit wobbly.
