What’s going on in Burnaby: April 15–21

Head up to the SFU Trottier Observatory for a free Easter egg hunt and other Easter-themed activities. You’ll be able to make your own Easter bunny ears, draw with sidewalk chalk, get your face painted, join the Easter egg hunt, and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to meet the Easter bunny! This event is held by The Point and is happening Saturday, April 16 from 10–11 am

Sign up for an appointment to donate blood this Sunday, April 17 from 9:30 am to 4:15 pm at Byrne Creek Secondary School. Currently all blood donations are by appointment and you can sign up on the Canadian Blood Services website. Not only will you be doing something great for the community but you will be able to enjoy cookies and juice afterwards.

Burnaby April 15 to 21

Head over to the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts to experience “Same Difference” starting Tuesday, April 19 at 7 pm, This audio visual experience is based on the interviews of 12 refugees and immigrants of different backgrounds and age groups. According to the City of Burnaby website, this event will invite “audiences to stargaze upon themselves and their images within an evolving and seemingly boundless space.” Tickets cost $35 and you can purchase them online.

Head over to the Amazing Brentwood to view their latest display. Wildflowers is a faux floral display to show the beautiful colours of spring. Flowers line the Skybridge and make a great spot to snap a photo. This display is on until May 23 so be sure to check it out before it’s gone.

Burnaby Central Railway is opening its doors for the season starting April 15 from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. Enjoy a 2 mile outdoor ride in the woods, over bridges, and through tunnels on a miniature railway. Tickets cost $4.50 per ride and all passengers must be 3 or older.
