Trivia fans assemble! The Rec Room at The Amazing Brentwood is holding a trivia night every Tuesday until June 14. This trivia night will use the big screen and ask loads of questions about films, music, general knowledge and more. Trivia will be led by Fandom Trivia and hosted by Daniel Chai and Jeff Porter. Trivia is free to play and there are many prizes to be won.

Watch the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 face off against Sporting Kansas City II this Sunday, April 24 at Swangard Stadium. Gates will open at 3 pm. with the kick-off happening at 4 pm. Tickets cost $10 and you can buy them online.

Watch multi-instrumentalist musical legend John Lee lead an all-star trio this Sunday, April 24 from 8–9:30 pm at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. Lee will be playing bass and be accompanied by Chris Gestrin on piano and Jesse Cahill on drums. Joining them will be Ralph Moore on saxophone for a night of music you definitely won’t want to miss. Tickets cost $35 for adults, $30 for seniors and students, and $15 for youth. You can also purchase a ticket to watch a livestream of the concert as well for $15.

Visit the Burnaby Art Gallery this Thursday, Apr 28, from 7 –9 pm for the opening reception of Arts Alive. This year is the 40th anniversary of Arts Alive, which is a program that showcases student work in partnership with the Burnaby School District. This year’s theme was “Tapestry of Tales” and the students are sure to impress with their interpretation of the topic. Additionally, this event will be showcasing the work of seven Burnaby Senior Secondary students in the Artist Apprenticeship Program. This program was designed for students interested in a career in fine arts and invites them to create an exhibition of their work. This is the first time these students will present their work in a gallery setting, so be sure to go and support our future Burnaby artists.

Head over to the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts from April 27–30 to watch Peace Country, a play that will explore intercultural friendship alongside “the challenges of making a living in the north and the fury they face from environmentalists in the south — all in the midst of climate change.” Tickets cost $35 for adults, $30 for seniors and students, and $15 for youth.
