The City of Burnaby will “honour and recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day by highlighting the work of Indigenous artists, performers and storytellers” on June 21 for National Indigenous Day from 11 am to 5 pm at the Edmonds Community Centre. There will be a Salish Thunderbirds Dance alongside performances from Valeen Jules, Tsleil-Waututh Warriors, Coastal Wolf Pack, and more! This event is free and open to all ages.

Another Community Cleanup will be held on June 25 from 9 am to 12 pm at the Cameron Recreation Complex. Everyone is welcome, and equipment like gloves and litter pickers will be provided by the city. Participants will meet in the parking lot of the cleanup location, get a brief orientation, and then start the cleanup.

The 25th annual Scandinavian Midsummer Festival will be taking place on June 25 and 26 at the Scandinavian Community Centre. There will be a life-sized Viking Village, Scandinavian food like Swedish meatballs and Danish smørrebrød, a beer garden, and plenty of fun activities like the hobby horse race or wife-carrying contest. Tickets to the festival cost $15 for Saturday and $10 for Sunday.
