Join the Burnaby Beacon for its first-ever panel on Burnaby’s identity on May 17 at 7:30 pm online. The panel will be moderated by our managing editor Simran Singh, and Antonia Beck (CEO Burnaby Neighbourhood House), Andy Yan (Director of the SFU City Program), and Victor Yin (SFU Alumnus and Human Geographer) will be joining us as panellists for this event.

Join the Burnaby Lake Park Association for its Annual General Meeting on May 18 at 7 pm where the association will “highlight some of the BLPA’s activities over the past year as well as take care of some required society business.” The event will take place over Zoom, and if you are not already a member of the Burnaby Lake Park association you must register to attend online.

Visit the Burnaby Lake Nature House to meet the fairies that live in the park and build new homes for them with supplies from “Gnome Depot.” You’ll also be able to join a “storytime at the mushroom circle with the Burnaby Public Library, search for hidden fairy friends, and take part in the Elf Olympics trail walk.” This event is free, open to all ages, and you can register for it online.

Head over to Central Park for this mini-festival that is a part of Burnaby Blooms. Enjoy ecological-themed activities and demonstrations like making your own terrarium jars and helping create an ecological art statue along with free entertainment.
