In-person story time with Mark Angelo
In-person story time is returning to Indigo at Metrotown. Join Mark Angelo as he reads his book “The Little Creek That Could,” which tells “a remarkable and inspiring story of how a severely damaged stream was brought back to life.” This event is happening on May 28 at 11 am at the Indigo in Metrotown.

Swangard Stadium will be hosting Safe and Sound, a hip-hop festival with Ty Dolla $ign headlining. Tickets start at $71.85 and the festival will be taking place on May 29.

The premier of Gem-Like will be held Wednesday, May 26 at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. It explores “both the frustrations and the small “gem-like” moments experienced in long-term care.” It will be followed by a short film version of Spooky Action which is “inspired by Einstein’s famous phrase referring to particles that are so closely linked, they share the same existence.” Tickets cost $15 and the event starts at 8 pm.

Community Cleanups are making a comeback and will start May 28 from 9 am to 12 pm at Eileen Dailly Leisure Pool & Fitness Centre. After, they will be scheduled for the last Saturday of the month until September. Everyone is welcome, and equipment like gloves and litter pickers will be provided by the city.

The Burnaby Farmers Market has a free book exchange happening every Saturday. There will also be all the other great things the farmers market offers, like local entertainers and plenty of vendors selling crafts, ingredients, and yummy treats. Be sure to visit the Burnaby Farmers Market this season before it’s gone.
