Burnaby Pride is back for another year of prideful celebrations, with a full day of events planned for Saturday, July 22.
The association is hosting a variety of events for attendees, whether you prefer a more laid back afternoon of birdwatching, an upbeat outdoor Zumba class, or celebrating in style at the annual festival.
Schedule
Birders of all skill levels are invited to join Lindz Marsh, Burnaby Lake Park Association board director, and another local birder from 9 to 10:30am as they share their knowledge and passion for birds.
On this walk, there is hope to see seasonal birds, such as Sandhill Cranes or the local Spotted Towhees and Wood Ducks.
Bring a pair of binoculars if you can to allow you to see distant birds more easily.
The tour will be along the Burnaby Lake trails, which are accessible to wheelchair users, people who use mobility aids, or child strollers.
The event is free, but advance registration is required.
Get your groove on with Zumba by Chantel in this 45-minute outdoor Zumba class.
From 11 to 11:45am, people of all ages and all experience levels are invited to dance it out at Burnaby Civic Square.
The event is free, and Arc’Teryx will provide a prize to the Zumba attendee with the best Pride outfit.
The Burnaby Pride Festival returns for its sixth year, kicking off the celebrations at Burnaby Civic Square that run from noon to 6pm.
The celebration will include live music, drag, comedy performances, and educational booths, activities, and delicious food trucks.
Dandy, DJ Moaning Lisa, Fallen Stars, and IAMREBELWILL are just some of the many performers taking the stage.
The event is open to all ages and is free to attend.
