Election Day

When is it?

In case you need another reminder, the federal election will take place on Monday, September 20, 2021.

More important information
  • Where do you go? Your local polling station. That information can be found on your voter card. You can also search for your station using Election Canada’s online tool or by calling at 1-800-463-6868. You can also type in your postal code into the VoteMate box below:

  • What do you bring?

    • Option 1 (1 piece of ID): Show your driver’s licence or any other card issued by a Canadian government (federal, provincial, local) that has your photo, full name, and your current address

    • Option 2 (2 pieces of ID): Show 2 pieces of ID. Both must have your name and at least one must have your current address. Elections Canada has a full list of approved ID accepted here.

    • Option 3 (No ID): Those without ID can still vote if they declare their identity and address in writing and have someone who knows them and who is assigned to their polling station vouch for them. The voucher must be able to prove their identity and address. A person can vouch for only 1 person (except in long-term care facilities).

  • COVID protocols: At all polling stations, poll workers will be wearing masks. You will also be required to wear your mask. There will be clear physical distancing markers and hand sanitizer at all locations as well.
