Foodstock returns to Burnaby this weekend

The Greater Vancouver Food Bank fundraiser is back with a shout!

Foodstock, the food bank fundraising festival, returns to Burnaby on Sunday, June 18, for an afternoon of entertainment.

The Greater Vancouver Food Bank’s annual festival is coming to Swangard Stadium with live entertainment, games, and local vendors, with many sending portions of their proceeds to GVFB.

The event will be headlined by Vancouver natives Said the Whale.

The group won the New Group of the Year award at the Junos in 2011, and has gone on to release three new albums since then, bringing their total to seven.

Other event entertainers will include Fake Shark, Savannah Read, Dani Camacho, and Generous Thieves.

While you’re enjoying the entertainment, you can also stop by some of the vendors for refreshments and food. Some local breweries and wineries will also be at the event to quench your thirst, including:

The above vendors will be donating 50% of their proceeds to the GVFB.

You can also find a full list of the food and artisan vendors that will be at the event, and these vendors will be donating 10% to the GVFB.

The event is limited to those 19+, and identification will be required to enter the event grounds.

It is a ticketed event, and each ticket includes entry and one standard-sized beverage (12oz beer and mixed liquor, 5oz wine).
