If you’re looking for a treat (whether it be for a party, Valentine’s Day, or just for yourself to enjoy) you’ve got plenty of options to choose from in Burnaby.

But there are some smaller foodie businesses in the city we’d like to shout out. In fact, there are a lot of purveyors, bakers, and chefs who operate out of their own private kitchens that you may not know about until you come across their work on social media. Here are a few Burnaby-based small businesses making delicious treats for you to try.
If you’re looking for a beautiful charcuterie board for a dinner party or a fancy night in, check out Thyme and Rosemary. Their two-person team creates amazing boards suitable for any occasion, that feature specialty cheeses, crackers, meats, preserves and more. They also make delicious homemade cannolis, biscotti, and macarons so you’ll be covered for dessert too! Find out more here.
We wrote about this local (and very new) donut business earlier this week and the news about Twins Donuts has been spreading fast! Burnaby resident and chef Leslie Grana currently operates Twins Donuts out of her home kitchen (but the way things are going, she’ll be in a larger, commercial kitchen very soon). Twins Donuts serves up some delicious, unique flavours including Leche Flan/ Dulce Flan, Lemon Curd, Avocado Delight, Bailey’s Cream, Nutella Cream Cheese, and Coconut Latik. The shop currently operates every Monday and Tuesday and accepts orders from Wednesday with a Sunday cutoff. Learn more and order here.
Is your cookie craving strong? You’re in luck because local Burnaby cookie-maker the Baking Hedgehog bakes up some delicious treats. From strawberry shortbread to classic chocolate chip, the Baking Hedgehog has flavours that will please all cookie lovers. Learn more and order here.
Pavlova please!
Burnaby resident Bella Oren, bakes up beautiful pavlovas. If you haven’t tried pavlova before, they are meringue-based desserts named after Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. Oren makes several pavlova flavours to choose from including Strawberry Fields, Berry Lovers, and Golden Kiwi Mango Supreme. You can get in touch with Oren here to find out more and place your order.
