Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (Scientific Training And Tactical Intelligence Operative Network) has finally arrived in Burnaby, and we were lucky enough to get a sneak peek.

The highly-anticipated exhibit and interactive experience opens at The Amazing Brentwood on Friday, March 3, and places you into the world of the Avengers as you get up close and personal with your favourite superheroes and the science behind their powers.

The concept itself is meant to be a giant walkthrough training centre (it spans over 25,000 sq. ft.), where you learn as much as you can about the powers, strengths, and smarts of MCU heroes, before facing a final challenge.

You start in a room of giant screens, where you’ll receive a message from Commander Maria Sharp, who preps you for the mission. If you’re ready to take on all the responsibility of training to become an official recruit, you’re allowed to enter.

From there, you’ll travel room to room, where you’ll be able to explore displays dedicated to the Avengers, including Iron Man’s Hall of Armor, Bruce Banner’s lab, Black Widow’s tech weapons, Thor’s Mjolnir, Captain America’s shield, Black Pather’s Vibranium suit, and much more.

Of course, your journey wouldn’t be complete without coming face-to-face with some of the biggest and baddest villains in the MCU (we’re looking at you, Thanos).

Before you end your journey, you’re faced with a final task, which will determine if you’ve passed the test of becoming a Marvel agent.

I was hoping for some more hands-on aspects of the exhibit, as I thought the mission itself would include actual tasks visitors needed to complete throughout the experience, but unfortunately, there wasn't a lot of that.

However, as someone who isn’t a huge Marvel-head (but has watched a few of the franchise’s movies), Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is definitely a cool experience, especially for big-time MCU fans.

The exhibit has high production value, and the walkthrough itself doesn’t skimp on the big-time blockbuster qualities Marvel is known for.

It will take you anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour to walk through the entire space, depending on how long you want to marvel at all your favourite MCU heroes (pun intended).

Marvel S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is definitely the closest thing Metro Vancouver may have to the big-ticket attractions you’d experience at Disneyland. And with spring break only a few weeks away, it’ll sure be a hit with the kids.

Fair warning for all parents, though, when you finish the exhibit you end up walking into a giant gift shop where you’ll be hit with shelves filled with merch. So be prepared to exit fast if you don’t want to walk out with bags of figurines and shirts!
