Red Robin Burnaby closing down city’s only location

Well cluck.

It’s the end of an era, burger pals. Red Robin Burnaby is closing down at the end of this month.

The city’s only Burnaby location will close its doors at 9628 Cameron Street in Lougheed Plaza, adjacent to Lougheed Mall. The closure comes “due to a number of factors,” including the location’s lease expiring, the company posted on Facebook.

“Thank you for your many years of support,” Red Robin Canada said, encouraging patrons to visit other locations around the Lower Mainland, including Coquitlam, Surrey, and Vancouver.

The closure of Red Robin Burnaby leaves only six other locations around the Lower Mainland, and 11 across BC. They have no other locations across Canada anymore.

In 2019, Red Robin closed down all its Alberta locations, part of a “reassessment of Red Robin’s real estate portfolio,” Global News reported at the time.

“It is our intention to expand Red Robin throughout British Columbia and Canada in the future,” Red Robin said in their Facebook post. “No other closures are planned and we recently completed renovations in Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, and Kelowna, with a brand-new Langley location in the works as well.”

Red Robin used to operate another location at Metrotown, which closed in July 2012.
