Oh boy, is it cold outside! Christmas is over, the new year is here, and yet we’ve got many weeks to go before the weather warms up and the world starts feeling alive again.
We published our first list of comfort food spots in the city a while ago, and we thought it was time for part two, to start the new year off right.
Try out one of the restaurants on this list of places to find comfort food in Burnaby.
This spot for Korean fried chicken has become hugely popular across the Lower Mainland. With three locations in Burnaby, and plenty of flavours on the menu, they’ve got something for everyone! Make sure to try the famously sweet and spicy Yangyeom, but don’t skip the cheesy deliciousness of the Cheese Snow Chicken. If you’re stuck between two options, try the half and half combo!

OEB Breakfast Co. should be your next destination for a rich, hearty brunch! They do amazing eggs benny—like their Truffled Square, which has braised butternut squash and truffle mushrooms—but if you’re craving something comforting, the real star of the show is their selections of breakfast poutines. The potatoes will send you straight to culinary heaven! They also do classic breakfast and mimosas.
