Fight, stabbing at Burnaby’s Station Square leave two people injured
Police are investigating a fight and stabbing in the Metrotown area that sent two men to hospital with non-serious injuries.
Burnaby RCMP say officers were called to Silver Drive, home to the Station Square complex with restaurants and shops, around 10:20pm on Thursday night for reports of a fight between three men involving a knife.
“It’s believed two men were leaving a nearby restaurant when they got into a physical fight with a third man, who was not known to them, in a parking lot. A knife was pulled during the incident,” RCMP said in a statement.
Two of the men fled in a vehicle, but RCMP says officers “boxed them in” near Kingsway and Sussex Ave. A 33-year-old man inside the car was taken to hospital for superficial stab wounds, while a 40-year-old man who was with him was not injured.
Another 27-year-old man was also taken to hospital for minor injuries, although it’s unclear what caused those injuries.
RCMP says police seized a knife that was found nearby—and are asking any witnesses to the incident to speak with investigators.
