When you think about Valentine’s Day there are three things that always come to mind: chocolate, flowers, and presents. Mon Paris has all three, and they are all edible. Celebrate the day of love with their beautiful chocolate creations in the shape of potted Camellias, teddy bears, high heels, and even Louis Vuitton bags. Pies are delicious and a great way to celebrate the sweetest holiday (or is that Halloween?), but they can get a bit too heavy and you can’t try a lot of flavours. Fear not. The Pie Hole has a special Valentine mini pie box available for pre-order. Lunar New Year celebrations are slowing down, but you can still celebrate it in conjunction with Valentine’s Day at Bella Gelateria by getting their three seasonal flavours: the White Rabbit Candy inspired by the iconic Chinese milk candy; the Golden Cadillac an interpretation of the famous cocktail with a strong vanilla flavour and notes of anise, juniper, and cinnamon; and the traditional Bacio gelato to bring that signature Valentine’s chocolate flavour with a hazelnut surprise.Address: #K3-4700 Kingsway (Metrotown)
Soft Peaks is celebrating Valentine’s Day with strawberries. This month they’re serving up a delicious strawberry soft serve made with local organic milk and housemade strawberry puree. They also have two specials on the menu. There’s the Strawberry Crush which contains condensed milk drizzle, chocolate cereal crispearls, sprinkles, and a piece of homemade ruby chocolate and a new flavour, Strawberry Cheesecake, made with house-made strawberry confit, biscoff crumble, and strawberry cheesecake bites. Chez Christophe is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a twist on their signature Croissant Cube – the Valentine’s Cube. The beautifully festive treat will have a lavender-infused peach cream filling and it’s only available on Feb. 11, 12 and 14. Chez Christophe’s Valentine’s collection also features a beautiful “Swan in a Million” showpiece, as well as special cakes, macarons, and chocolate treats, so be sure to check them out!Address: 4717 Hastings St
This neighbourhood staple will be doing a special Valentine’s menu from Feb 11 to 13 (they’re closed on Feb 14), and it will feature two sundaes and a milkshake each inspired by a different romantic city. The Paris is a sundae with caramelized croissants, lavender, and raspberry; the Honolulu is a sundae with pineapple, rum, and passionfruit flavours; and the New York is a black and white milkshake (chocolate and vanilla) decorated with a heart-shaped black and white cookie.Address: 4090 Hastings St

While these are not strictly Valentine’s-themed treats, pretty macarons are still very much on theme.
