On Dec. 3 you can learn to make your own woven cedar reindeer ornament at the Burnaby Village Museum. This class will weave together cultural knowledge about cedar and its many culturally significant and revered uses.Address: Burnaby Village Museum, 6501 Deer Lake Ave.
On Dec. 10 you can learn the art of wet felting by making felted soap in this hands-on workshop, perfect for kids and adults alike! Felted soap not only looks fantastic, its wool coat helps soap last longer, makes slippery bars easier to handle, gently exfoliates the skin, and can replace a washcloth or bath pouf in the shower. This course includes all the supplies necessary to make two bars of felted soap.

Head to the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts on Dec. 9 from 8-10pm for a wonderful celebration of music from around the world featuring Lache Cercel and Roma Jazz.

The Burnaby Village Museum is an old-school Christmas paradise from now until Jan. 2. Wander the museum’s 10-acre venue and take in all the seasonal entertainment, demonstrations, and activities. Take part in a bird-themed scavenger hunt including a menagerie of adorned larger-than-life eco-sculptures. Enjoy a meal or a treat at the Ice Cream Parlour or other offerings from Cravings Kettle Corn. As always, admission to the museum is free but you’re encouraged to plan your visit in advance because this event can get very busy.
