What’s going on in Burnaby: Dec. 15-22

We’re inching closer to Christmas, and between all the shopping and gift wrapping we recommend taking a break with some of these awesome Burnaby events.

Here are 10 things to do in Burnaby this week!

On Dec. 16, head to Steamworks Burnaby for a pint with friends and enjoy live tunes and good eats.

A holiday pool party for the whole family! Join the City of Burnaby for a Santa swim on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 1:30-3:30pm at Eileen Dailly Leisure Pool (240 Willingdon Ave.). Games, seasonal crafts, and more!

One of Burnaby’s most popular breweries is raising money for Burnaby Neighbourhood House with its holiday meat draw. On Dec. 17, from 2 to 8pm head down to Studio Brewing to enter the meat raffle.

The Hilton Metrotown is hosting an incredible holiday brunch this Sunday, Dec. 18 with seating between 10:30 and 2pm! Featured on the menu are fresh baked goods, seafood, eggs benedict, and more! Tickets here.

Join Pardalis Studio with a special string quartet for the Nativitatis Choral for an evening of magical music, on Sunday, Dec. 18. There will also be an opportunity to donate to Socks for Souls at the event. More info and tickets here.

The Admiral Pub hosts stand-up comedy nights every other Monday night! Come out to the pub for specials on Steamworks beer and a whole lot of laughs. The next event is on Monday, Dec. 19. Tickets are $10 and are available here.

Head to the Admiral Pub for another fun night on Wednesday, Dec. 21 for Wine Women & Song, featuring musical guest Reverve. The event takes place from 7 to 9pm.

The Burnaby Village Museum is an old-school Christmas paradise from now until Jan. 2. Wander the museum’s 10-acre venue and take in all the seasonal entertainment, demonstrations, and activities. Take part in a bird-themed scavenger hunt including a menagerie of adorned larger-than-life eco-sculptures. Enjoy a meal or a treat at the Ice Cream Parlour or other offerings from Cravings Kettle Corn. As always, admission to the museum is free but you’re encouraged to plan your visit in advance because this event can get very busy.
