Diwali is right around the corner, Burnaby, which means it’s time to bring light into your home, celebrate with loved ones, and enjoy some delicious food and sweets.
Diwali is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and Buddhists across the world. It also coincides with the Sikh holiday Bandi Chhor Divas. This year, Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas will take place on Oct. 24.
Both festivals centre around the theme of light, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil.

Baba Sweets is definitely the place to go if you need to grab some samosas or mithai (sweets). It also offers veggie and meat dishes, parathas, appies, and desserts, which are best ordered for takeout as this location doesn’t have much indoor seating.
