The best tacos in Burnaby you need to try
Regardless of whether you’re a taco expert or still ordering your tacos from Taco Bell, Burnaby has some amazing spots for tacos that we need to taco bout.
Check out what we think are the two best taco places for your next Taco Tuesday and let us know if we missed one of your favourite spots.
Don Oso’s has some of the best tacos in the Lower Mainland, let alone just Burnaby. They have 9 different kinds of tacos for you to try—like their Carnitas tacos with shredded pork, Barbacoa tacos with slow-cooked beef, or even their Chorizo sin chorizo tacos with plant-based chorizo for all you vegetarians out there. They also specialize in Quesabirria tacos stuffed with birria beef, mozzarella cheese, onions, cilantro, and a side of consomé to dip. If you don’t feel like tacos (though we don’t know how you could ever not feel like tacos), they have plenty of other Mexican dishes like tortas, tostadas, and empanadas. Be sure to visit on a Tuesday when you can get either their Pollo or Carnitas tacos for $3 each.

Olivo Cafe and Eatery is the other must-try spot for tacos in Burnaby. This restaurant serves up classic tacos and you can order them with chicken, pork carnitas, beef, fish, or vegetarian. While this list is supposed to be about tacos, it would be terrible to not mention the amazing breakfast that Olivo Cafe and Eatery also offers. From chilaquiles (homemade cheese and tomatoes salsa, homemade tortillas chips, sour cream, feta cheese, two sunny-side up eggs, served with a side of beans and rice) to their Carnitas Egg Benedict (house special pork carnitas and poached eggs on English muffins, topped with Hollandaise sauce with a side of hash brown and mixed greens), there are so many different options to choose from.
