Dine the Line: Here’s how you can take Burnaby SkyTrain foodie tours

Dine the Line. Maybe drink some wine? This is your sign; it’ll be a fine time, we opine.

West Coast Food’s Dine the Line event is back on the menu with itineraries that follow SkyTrain lines or themed routes that are easily accessible by TransLink, and there are plenty of delicious eateries to explore in Burnaby.

But Burnaby Beacon, you protest, don’t you already have a couple of perfectly fine food tours around Metrotown? To which we say: We do, thank you for noticing.

But this is a chance to support some local Burnaby businesses and shake up your routine a bit!

Along with the Breweries and Bites itinerary along the Millennium Line, there’s also World Cuisine along the Expo Line and Dim Sum to Dinner around the Canada Line and Sea Bus.

But if you’re looking for the themes, there’s six different options for you: Bring the Family, Plant-Based Path, the Bubble Line, Explore East and Southeast Asia, It’s Better with Friends, and Brunch to Brews in Langley.

Some Burnaby stops include Tenen Eastern European Cuisine near Royal Oak Station in the It’s Better with Friends route, five different bubble tea spots along the Bubble Line (constituting entirely half of that itinerary), and Tendon Kohaku near Brentwood Station and Pho Japolo Sushi near Lougheed Station on the Explore East and Southeast Asia route.

And, of course, the Expo and Millennium lines run right through Burnaby. Astro’s Kitchen near Holdom and Dageraad Brewing near Production Way-University are highlighted along the Millennium Line. And Cafe La Foret near Metrotown Station, Hanwoori Korean Restaurant near Royal Oak, and Anatolia’s Gate Restaurant near Edmonds are all stops along the Expo Line itinerary.

Plus, West Coast Food has some prizes for people who participate, including a two-night stay at the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver, dinner at Diva at the Met, and two Compass Cards pre-loaded with unlimited transit throughout TransLink for three days. The winner will also get $400 in gift cards to Dine the Line featured restaurants.
