UPDATE: Arrest made in fatal stabbing at Metrotown

Update: 10:45am

Police say they have arrested a man in connection to a fatal stabbing in the area of the Metropolis and Metrotown mall on Sunday.

However, police are not releasing the identities of the victim or of the accused.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said in a news release that there were several reports of other serious offences in the area, none of which resulted in injuries. Police are still investigating those incidents and any potential connections to the stabbing.

A man was arrested by police after a “brief search in Metrotown area.” IHIT said the suspect and victim knew each other, and it was not a random attack.

If you were in the area of Metrotown Sunday between 11am and 1pm, you’re asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 or by email at [email protected].
