Where to find festive holiday treats in Burnaby
The best thing about the holiday season is the plethora of limited-edition holiday treats that will disappear as soon as the holiday decorations come down. As we arrive in December, there’s no better time to start tasting these festive flavours so we can enjoy them to our hearts’ content before they’re gone. We’ve compiled a list of holiday offerings to get our sweet-toothed readers started, feel free to let us know if we missed any places!
Chez Christophe is bringing the holiday cheer this year with 4 Buche de Noel flavours (cranberry blossom, oh, deer, la chocolatee, and pear rocher) and adorable chocolate lollipops in the shape of a tree, a reindeer, and a snowman. Looking for something to decorate your holiday feast and make you feel like you’re on a vacation? Check out their beautiful “A Tropical Christmas” showpieces! Please keep in mind these items need to be pre-ordered, which you can do on their website. More holiday treats are coming, so keep an eye out on their website.Address: 4717 Hastings St

Speaking of frozen treats, we can’t forget Soft Peaks. From now until mid-December, you can get their delicious S’Mores flavour with s’mores-inspired toppings served in a cone with a toasted marshmallow fluff rim. Taking its place and staying on the menu until January will be a returning favourite, the Mont Blanc. The Mont Blanc is inspired by the traditional dessert and consists of a sweetened chestnut purée accompanied with a meringue mixture, chestnut pieces, feuilletine flakes, and a piece of glazed chestnut with gold flakes on top. Stay tuned to Soft Peaks’ Instagram page to find out more about the special holiday edition of the Mont Blanc – matcha excitement awaits!Address: 4603 Kingsway
Although minus cake shop is just past the Burnaby-Vancouver border at Boundary Rd, their beautifully decorated cakes were too good not to give a special mention to. Minus Cake Boutique takes it to the next level with four holiday designs: the Christmas Snow Globe, the Reindeer and Snowman, the Merry Yule Log, and the Santa in Forest. They do look too pretty to eat, but the delicious flavour combinations such as the Christmas Snow Globe’s assembly of vanilla sponge, yellow peach compote, white peach panna cotta, and white peach oolong tea mouse also mean that they’re too delicious not to eat!Address: 3615 Kingsway
