What to do around Burnaby’s Patterson Station

Burnaby has so much going on that you don’t need to leave the city to do something fun. We’re highlighting some of the best things to do in Burnaby. We started with Royal Oak Station and now we’re moving on to Patterson Station. So whether you’re looking for a nice walk in the park or a food tour of some of the best Burnaby restaurants, we’ve got you covered.

Central Park is one of the nicest parks to explore in Burnaby, and there is so much to do there as well. You can go golfing, walk around the trails, enjoy the eco sculptures, go for a swim in the outdoor pool, work out at the outdoor fitness circuit, cool off at the spray park, play a game of tennis, and so much more! Plus it is the perfect segue into our next suggestion.

Swangard Stadium hosts all sorts of events like sports games, concerts, and they’re even planning on hosting Pumpkins After Dark which will bring over 6000 carved pumpkins to Burnaby. The public track is currently closed but when it is open you can enjoy a nice run. Their next

Just a quick 12-minute walk through Central Park will take you to Peaceful Art Studio where you can unleash your inner artist. For those interested in pursuing art in a university setting they also offer a program to “develop a series of personalized art portfolio pieces meeting university requirements and professional development.”

Enjoy some peace and quiet

Don’t want to deal with the hustle and bustle of Central Park? There are plenty of other small parks around for you to enjoy. We’d recommend heading over to George McLean Park or Old Orchard Park for a nice relaxing stroll or even a picnic! But we should note that parking is limited so if you’re going here on a weekend be sure to get there early before spots fill up.

The Burnaby Public Library – Bob Prittie Branch is an incredible place to explore. All you need is a library card (which is free) to access thousands of books, magazines, DVDs, and more. Once you’re done at the library, head to Burnaby Civic Square to enjoy reading your books in the beautiful garden right outside.
