The Peri Peri Shack: Burnaby’s newest Portuguese-style chicken spot is now open

The Peri Peri Shack opened a new location in Burnaby at the start of August and has been serving up delicious Portuguese-style chicken, wraps, sandwiches, and of course, some very delicious cheesecake (keep reading to find out where it’s from).

Those who have visited their first location in Vancouver will be familiar with what The Peri Peri Shack in Burnaby has to offer. We had the chance to visit and try their Chicken & Rice which is considered one of their “most popular dishes and for a good reason.”

The dish includes chicken, which is marinated for 24 hours in their signature marinade and flamed grilled over Basmati spiced rice. It also comes with a white “Shack sauce” and you can also choose the level of spiciness for your chicken from Mild, Citrus & Herb (which is what we recommend), Mango, Hot, Very Hot, and Peri Nero (their hottest flavour).

If you’re looking for something with a bit of a kick to it then we would suggest going for their “hot” variety because the Citrus & Herb was very mild. You’re also able to add on extras like grilled pineapples or harvest veggies for an extra charge to level up your meal.

Another draw of the Peri Peri Shack lies at their front counter where they display all sorts of different cheesecakes from The Cheesecake Factory. Featured flavours include Cinnabon, Godiva Double Chocolate, Red Velvet, Banana Foster, Chocolate Cheery, Chocolate Fudge, and more.

Overall, The Peri Peri Shack in Burnaby has something for everyone. Whether you’re craving something that will melt your tastebuds, or want a cool piece of cheesecake, we know there’s something you’ll love on their menu.
