New Japanese and Singaporean eateries coming to Burnaby
There are a few more exciting spots arriving in the city that we wanted to fill you in on.
Another week, and we’ve got more Burnaby restaurant news coming your way.
Claudio’s Ristorante (which opened last year in Brentwood’s Solo District), will soon be joined by a new neighbour.
Signage is up for SAKU, a Japanese eatery that specializes in tonkatsu— a breaded, deep-fried cutlet (usually pork, but can also consist of other proteins), and soba. SAKU will be located right beside the Italian eatery.

SAKU has two other locations in Vancouver, on Robson and Broadway.
Fans of this spot rave about the tender and juicy tonkatsu, Japanese curry, and the restaurant’s overall ambience.
Burnaby Beacon has reached out SAKU to learn more about its intended opening date, and will provide an update once we get one.
The second opening we’re excited about is Singapore Hawker, which announced its expansion to Burnaby earlier this month. The restaurant already operates one location in Coquitlam.
This casual eatery specializes in Malaysian and Singaporean street food, and diners can expect menu items like satay skewers, curry chicken wings, Mie Goreng, Nyonya curry, and much more.
According to Singapore Hawker, its new location will be at 7150 Sperling Ave.
We’ll be sure to keep tabs on when these eateries announce their official openings!
