Studio Brewing hosting sizzling summer fundraiser bash for Burnaby Neighbourhood House

Looking for something to do this weekend? Join Studio Brewing at their inaugural Summer Sizzler on Saturday to reconnect with your neighbours and get dunked for a good cause!

The Sizzler will feature three main highlights: 3 new beers from the brewery, a dunk tank to fundraise for Burnaby Neighbourhood House (BNH), and delicious food from Oh My Gado food truck.

“Supporting organizations in our community that give back to the community and do really great things for the people in our community is something that we really, really believe in. And so we’ll continue to do that,” says owner Mark Quinlan.

Its earlier collaboration with the Burnaby Neighbourhood House, a beer called I Heart BBY, was a resounding success and raised around $9,000. They are hoping to recreate that with their dunk tank at the event. Every throw will cost $1 and all proceeds will go to BNH, which a goal of having 1,000 throws to raise $1,000.

As a brewery, it is no surprise that beer is central to Studio Brewing’s efforts to give back to the community.

“Beer comes first,” Quinlan says. “One thing that we’re really proud about is that we use the highest quality ingredients in our beer and we take a painstaking effort to make sure that the beer we create is both creative and at the absolute highest quality.”

The Summer Sizzler will be held with proper social distancing measures in place, so everyone can have fun in a safe environment.

“Safety is our top priority when it comes to having anything on-site at the brewery,” adds Quinlan. “We’ve designed the outside and inside of the brewery right now to really help facilitate the social distance aspect. The staff are trained so well and they do such a great job at facilitating a safe environment.”

Studio Brewing’s Summer Sizzler will take place on Saturday, August 21 from 11 am to 11 pm at 5792 Beresford St.
