Vehicle fire and crash leaves one dead in Burnaby
An early morning crash and vehicle fire have left one dead in Burnaby.
According to Burnaby RCMP, officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire caused by a collision at Boundary Road near Canada Way around 12:44am on Tuesday.
A Black Jeep Cherokee was travelling northbound on Boundary Road before the crash and the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead on scene.
Boundary Road is fully shut down both North & South, between Canada Way and 22nd Ave / Elmwood St.

Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team has taken over the investigation.
Police are also asking for anyone who witnessed the crash or may have dash cam footage from Boundary Road between Grandview Highway and Kingsway Ave between 12am and 1am to contact them at 604-646-9999, and quote file number 2022-21218.
Boundary Road between Canada Way and 22nd Ave is currently closed in both directions as police continue to investigate the incident.
