What’s open and closed in Burnaby this holiday weekend

It’s the holiday weekend, meaning there will be errands to run, shopping to do, and last-minute groceries to pick up. Here’s a handy list of services and shops in Burnaby and their hours to help you know what’s open and closed this weekend.

City services

Burnaby city hall will be open for limited holiday hours:

  • December 24: 8 am-12 noon (Christmas Eve)

  • December 27: Closed (in lieu of Christmas)

  • December 28: Closed (in lieu of Boxing Day)

  • December 29: 8 am-4:45 pm

  • City hall will fully reopen to the public on Jan 4, 2022

Burnaby Public Library

Over winter break all locations will be closed on:

  • Saturday, December 25

  • Sunday, December 26

  • Monday December 27

  • Tuesday, December 28

Public library locations will be open on Dec 24 until 1pm.

Malls

  • The Amazing Brentwood: Dec 24: 10 am to 5 pm/ CLOSED Christmas Day/ Boxing Day open 10am to 7pm

  • Metropolis at Metrotown: Dec 24: 10 am to 6pm/ CLOSED Christmas Day/ Boxing Day open 8am to 10pm

  • The City of Lougheed Mall: Dec 24: 10am to 5pm/ CLOSED Christmas Day

Liquor Stores:

  • BC Liquor stores will be CLOSED on Christmas Day. On Boxing Day, they will be open from 11am to 6pm

  • Independent liquor stores may have adjusted hours. Check out their info here:

Grocery Stores:

Most grocery stores will be closed on Christmas Day. Check holiday hours for your local grocer here:
