Where to get tasty cocktails in Burnaby

Ok, we know Burnaby isn’t known as a go-to spot for a cocktail night. Folks usually head to Vancouver for its much swankier and notable cocktail scene.

But if you do want to stay in the city, there are a few great spots to grab a well-made cocktail (or mocktail).

Here’s our list of go-to cocktail spots in Burnaby.

Burnaby’s newest Italian restaurant has an impressive cocktail menu that features flavourful drinks such as the Lambrusco Smash (blackberries, Amaro Montenegro, Limoncello syrup, and Prosecco) or the Pineapple Martini (pineapple juice, Malibu, and St. Germaine). Claudio’s also has a whole section dedicated to Negronis if that’s more up your alley. It also has a great bar staff who may just whip you up a custom cocktail if you’re lucky!

Address:#103-4402 Skyline Dr.

Time & Place in the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown has a good range of cocktails to suit all tastes. If fruity and sweet is your thing, there’s several options to try like the BC Signature Sangria, Campari Spritz, or Tropical Passionfruit Mule. The menu even pays homage to Burnaby with the Burnaby Buck Cocktail (made with whiskey, lemon juice, honey syrup, ginger beer, and a hint of basil). For those who lean towards classic cocktails, Time & Place has you covered with go-to’s like the Ole Smoke Fashioned and the Swear Jar Whiskey Sour.

As for mocktails, try the Mango and Ginger Fizzer or keep it simple with the Ginger Beer.

Circolo Wine bar

Circolo opened in the Heights this summer and is already making a name for itself with its delicious menu of authentic Italian eats, wine selections, and cocktails. Some highlights include the Sbagliato (insert this reference here for all our House of the Dragon fans) Goccia di Limone (made with Vodka, limoncello, lemon juice, triple sec, and lemon twist) or the classic Negroni.

Circolo also has two tasty non-alcoholic beverages on the menu: for those craving the feel of a gin and tonic (without the buzz) try the G&T Italiano or the very refreshing Elderflower Collins.

Located inside the Delta Hotel by Marriott Burnaby Conference Centre, Atlas is an awesome option for a fine-dining experience in the city, with a cocktail menu to match. The menu is broken up by the type of liquor featured in each drink so you can easily choose a whiskey, tequila, vodka or gin, or rum cocktail based on your taste.

Pizza and cocktails are a great combo and that’s exactly what you can get at Cotto Enoteca Pizzeria. The cocktail menu includes a signature drink list with beverages like Cotto Negroni, Cotto Bellini, Cotto Sangria, and more.

The newest dining edition to The Amazing Brentwood boasts an impressive and tasty cocktail menu and if you’re a fan of mezcal margaritas, you’re in luck. Specialty drinks include the Sinner Man (made with saffron-infused rum, Mexican falernum syrup, grapefruit and lemon juice, and burning cinnamon), the Puerto Escondido (mezcal, Aperol, grapefruit peppercorn cordial, lime juice) and if you’re feeling something spicy try the bad Hombre, a bourbon mezcal drink made with lemon juice and serrano pepper.
