Burnaby Readers’ Choice Awards: Best brunch winners
We’re continuing with our Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Award category winners
Alright, Burnaby. We’ve announced the top restaurants from our 2023 Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Awards, presented by Tourism Burnaby. Now it’s time to highlight some more winners by category.
We’re breaking down the top three restaurant winners in each of the 32 categories included in this year’s awards, as voted by you.
Here are the winners of the best brunch in Burnaby.
First place: OEB Breakfast Co.
OEB breakfasts just hit different—how could they not, with decadent options like a lobster and shrimp crepe with brown butter hollandaise or a breakfast poutine topped with short ribs and wild cultivated mushrooms? If you’re looking for a fancy, sturgeon caviar-topped brunch, this is it.
Address: 4525 Lougheed Hwy #2306, Burnaby (at The Amazing Brentwood)
Second place: The Gray Olive Cafeteria
Serving up comfort food with creative twists, Gray Olive Cafeteria is all about mom’s home cooking “infused with a little culinary magic.” Think lemon ricotta pancakes with whipped cream and honey butter and crab cake bennies served with red pepper relish and a buttery biscuit. Comforting and delicious.
Address: 4190 Hastings St., Burnaby
Third place: Olivo Cafe
If you like huevos rancheros, then you’ll love some of the breakfast options offered at Olivo Cafe. Serving unique Mexican flavour mashups like birria eggs benedict, pork carnitas with poached eggs, and breakfast quesadillas, going out for brunch has never been more exciting.
Address: 3871 N Fraser Way #17, Burnaby
