Burnaby Readers’ Choice Awards: Best patio winners

Alright, Burnaby. We’ve announced the top restaurants from our 2023 Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Awards, presented by Tourism Burnaby. Now it’s time to highlight some more winners by category.

We’re breaking down the top three restaurant winners in each of the 32 categories included in this year’s awards, as voted by you.

Here are the winners of the best patios in Burnaby.

First place: Riverway Golf Club

Overlooking the rolling green fields of the Riverway golf course, the clubhouse patio is as beautiful as their food. Whether you’re going for a three-course dinner or are sifting through their all-day food menu, you’re in for a treat—special notice goes to their grilled cheese selection, with succulent options like lobster grilled cheese and french onion crab.

Second place: Hart House Restaurant

You’ll immediately notice the large, Victorian-style cottage that makes up Hart House Restaurant, a famous venue for large events and weddings in Burnaby. Their patio is no less striking, as well as their dinner menu—some options include lamb meatballs with harissa polenta and blackened steelhead with broccolini and roasted fingerlings.

Third place: Cactus Club

Surrounded by hanging plants and fairy lights, the Lougheed highway Cactus Club patio is a cozy spot to sit in whether you’re out grabbing drinks after work or are dining in with a large group of friends. Be sure to drop by for their happy hour (each day from 3p.m. to 6p.m. and 9p.m. till close) as you can find great deals on food and drinks.
