The Burnaby Village Museum will be opening its doors for the summer season starting May 7 until September 4. What’s even more special is the museum is celebrating its 50th year of being open. Burnaby Village Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 4:30 pm with free admission. But, if you would like to ride the famous carousel it will cost you $2.65

Here & Now is a modern dance performance curated by Kevin Bergsma, Salome Nieto, Barbara Bourget, Olivia Shaffer, and Alvin Tolentino. It will take place May 13 and 14 at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, with tickets costing $15. You can also stream the performance for $15.

Visit the Nikkei Museum and Cultural Centre Saturday, May 14 for their annual Spring Bazaar! From 11 am to 3 pm you can shop for Japanese crafts, home decor, plants, food, and more! Admission is free and the funds raised from purchasing food and goods will go towards future events and programs that will promote Japanese culture. There will be over 25 vendors at the Spring Bazaar and you’ll be able to buy items like dishes, Japanese dolls, and kimonos.

The Burnaby Farmers Market has returned and will be held every Saturday starting May 7 from 10 am to 2 pm. There will be local entertainers and plenty of vendors selling crafts, ingredients, and yummy treats. Be sure to visit the Burnaby Farmers Market at least once this season.

Join the Chinese Taoism Kuan-Kung Association in Canada for TJ Fest on May 14–15 from 11 am to 4 pm. Enjoy yummy authentic Chinese cuisine, stage performances, or even enter to win one of the many raffle prizes. Admission to the event is free so be sure not to miss it.
