Burnaby Readers' Choice Awards: Best ramen winners

We’re continuing with our Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Award category winners

Alright, Burnaby. We’ve announced the top restaurants from our 2023 Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Awards, presented by Tourism Burnaby. Now it’s time to highlight some more winners by category.

We’re breaking down the top three restaurant winners in each of the 32 categories included in this year’s awards, as voted by you.

Here are the winners of the best ramen in Burnaby.

First place: Jinya Ramen Bar

With over 50 locations across Canada, Jinya Ramen Bar is well known for its 20-hour, slowly simmered broth which renders a deep, savoury flavour in the final product. Though their main specialty is tonkotsu ramen (served in a variety of styles, from original to spicy), all of their soups look divine.

Address: 4567 Lougheed Hwy, Burnaby

Second place: Kamamarui Ramen & Don

This cozy, understated ramen bar is an essential Burnaby spot for authentic noodles and donburi. Each bowl is customizable, giving you a choice for chashu style (grilled or slow cooked), broth (regular or rich) and a long list of soup toppings.

Address: 6514 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby

Third place: Ramen Gaoh

If you love the deep, salty flavour of miso, you have to visit Ramen Gaoh. They specialize in miso ramen, which results in a thick, luxurious broth and a rich umami base to their soups. Other delicious goodies include gyozas, rice bowls and fried chicken, though the miso ramen is a must-try.
