Welcome back! The Bao Place announces new Burnaby location

Good news for Burnaby foodies! The much-loved The Bao Place has found a new location in the city and looks to reopen soon.

The Bao Place announced the closure of its Kingsway location in June 2022, but the owners told the Beacon at the time they were taking a bit of a hiatus before looking for a new location.

On Jan. 22, The Bao Place announced on its Facebook page that it has secured a new location at 7353 Edmonds St., next to Grand Food Mart.

"Kung Hei Fat Choi!!! New Year New Location! We are excited to let you know our new location at Edmonds St, Burnaby We will keep you update[d] for the opening date soon," wrote The Bao Place.

The restaurant is known for its quick, friendly service and delectable homestyle bao varieties. Popular flavours include the Malaysian Big Bao, BBQ Pork, and Veggie Devine. Aside from the bao, regulars love the Malaysian coffee.
