‘Tis the season: Holiday markets and craft fairs to check out in Burnaby
If you’re looking to support local makers and businesses this season, there’s no better way to do so than by checking out local holiday markets and Christmas craft fairs in Burnaby.
There are a few popping up on our radar already, and some of them are fast approaching! So mark these dates on your calendar and get ready for some good ol’ holiday fun at these local markets and craft fairs.

The Nikkei Museum is hosting a holiday pop-up every Thursday to Saturday until Dec 4. The weekly event features art, crafts, gifts, and artisanal goods from local makers and crafters. Check out the vendor lineup, and find hours and tickets here.Address: 6688 Southoaks Crescent
The Deer Lake Craft Festival returns for the 2021 season. Browse handcrafted creations from more than 30 artisans—”from one-of-a-kind jewelry to buttery, flaky croissants.” The festival runs Nov 19-21 at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. The event is free to enter and will feature entertainment from local emerging performers.Address: 6450 Deer Lake Ave
The 2021 Julmarknad is taking place at Burnaby’s Scandanavian Community Centre on Nov 20-21. The craft fair is organized by the Swedish Cultural Society and will feature traditional Swedish goods, treats, and crafts perfect for gift-giving this holiday season. The holiday cheer is coming to Brentwood this season with Holidays on the Block. Starting on Dec 9, this new holiday market will be open for 12 days and will feature several food trucks including Shameless Buns, Cin City Donuts, Crack On, and more. As well, you’ll be able to shop from and support local makers and business owners such as Our Little Soap Co, AmLiora Designs, Home of West Candle Co, and many more. There will be opportunities to take pictures with Santa (your pet is also welcome), and there will be a community stage featuring local talent. Entry is $5 with a portion going to charity.
