Burnaby Readers’ Choice Awards: Best date night spot winners

We’re continuing with our Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Award category winners

Alright, Burnaby. We’ve announced the top restaurants from our 2023 Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Awards, presented by Tourism Burnaby. Now it’s time to highlight some more winners by category.

We’re breaking down the top three restaurant winners in each of the 32 categories included in this year’s awards, as voted by you.

Here are the winners of the best date night spots in Burnaby.

First place: Atlas Steak + Fish

Atlas Steak + Fish describe themselves to be a “flirtatious and modern twist on the iconic North American steakhouse,” and on that, they certainly deliver. Their dining hall is spacious and ambient, accompanied by nightly live piano performances, not to mention their lavish menu—expect goodies like dungeness crab wontons, whole roasted sea bass, and succulent cuts of steak.

Address: 4331 Dominion St., Burnaby

Second place: The Rec Room

Fried chicken and Pac-Man? How about a cheeseburger with a side of ping pong? There’s perhaps no better way to spend a dinner date than at the Rec Room, surrounded by tons of entertainment (from retro arcade games to an axe-throwing room) and classic pub fare like poutine and nachos.

Address: 1920 Willingdon Ave. #2106, Burnaby

Sopra Sotto’s quaint Burnaby location is a fantastic date spot, serving traditional Neapolitan-style pizzas and pasta dishes alongside a variety of Italian wines and cocktails. Their open kitchen concept allows you to see all the pizza-making in action too, giving the restaurant a fun and inviting ambience.
