We’re continuing with our Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Award category winners
Alright, Burnaby. We’ve announced the top restaurants from our 2023 Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Awards, presented by Tourism Burnaby. Now it’s time to highlight some more winners by category.
We’re breaking down the top three restaurant winners in each of the 32 categories included in this year’s awards, as voted by you.
Here are the winners of the best Chinese cuisine in Burnaby.
First place: Burnaby Palace
It’s hard to think of a better place to visit for authentic Chinese cuisine. Not only is the food at Burnaby Palace excellent—serving up classics like fried ginger beef, garlic pork chops and a vast selection of steamed and fried dumplings—their dining hall is also spacious and elegant making it the perfect outing for a large group of friends.

Second place: Neptune Palace Seafood Restaurant
There are several different menus to explore at Neptune Palace Seafood Restaurant, such as dim sum, sweet(!) dim sum and a long list of grilled meats, rice and congee. Of particular interest though, is their king crab dinner—serving large groups of up to 10 people, you can order a multiple-course dinner complete with a whole, steamed crab.

Third place: Mr. Ho Wonton House
Operating in Burnaby for over 30 years, Mr. Ho Wonton House is a local favourite for quality Chinese cuisine. Some of their specials include sweet and sour pork, sliced beef chop suey and wonton soup. Be sure to check out their dinner combos, which can serve anywhere between four to 10 people and contain all of the popular, must-try dishes.
