Burnaby Readers’ Choice Awards: Best Indian cuisine winners
We’re continuing with our Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Award category winners
Alright, Burnaby. We’ve announced the top restaurants from our 2023 Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Awards, presented by Tourism Burnaby. Now it’s time to highlight some more winners by category.
We’re breaking down the top three restaurant winners in each of the 32 categories included in this year’s awards, as voted by you.
Here are the winners of the best Indian cuisine in Burnaby.
First place: Saffron Indian Cuisine
Spinning out classic Indian dishes like tandoori lamb chops, tikka masala and chicken korma, Saffron is a small yet mighty restaurant that has been a longtime favourite among Burnaby patrons for its quality dinners and quick, efficient service. Desserts like kheer (creamy rice pudding) and mango custard are must-tries.
Address: 4300 Kingsway #5, Burnaby
Second place: Agra Tandoori Restaurant
With a long selection of chicken, lamb, seafood and vegetarian specialties to choose from (not to mention a long list of tandoori specialties like onion kulcha and paneer tikka) it can be dizzying even searching through Agra’s dinner menu. Luckily there are no wrong answers, as well as a “curated meal for two” special that gives you some of their best items — both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available!
Address: 3790 Canada Way, Burnaby
Third place: Cayenne Bistro & Grill
You’re bound to experience bold, new flavours at Cayenne Bistro & Grill, which specializes in East African and Indian fusion dishes. Items such as Kuku Poussin (cornish game hen marinated in spicy poussin sauce) and Zanzibar Kuku Paka (grilled chicken cooked in a silky coconut milk curry) immediately catch our eye.
Address: 7677 6th St., Burnaby
