Burnaby Readers’ Choice Awards: Best Thai cuisine winners

Alright, Burnaby. We’ve announced the top restaurants from our 2023 Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Awards, presented by Tourism Burnaby. Now it’s time to highlight some more winners by category.

We’re breaking down the top three restaurant winners in each of the 32 categories included in this year’s awards, as voted by you.

Here are the winners of the best Thai cuisine in Burnaby.

First place: Chad Thai Restaurant

It’s hardly a surprise to see Chad Thai Restaurant named the best Thai restaurant in Burnaby—they’ve been voted the city’s favourite for nearly 10 consecutive years! Explore undiscovered gems like chili jam fried rice with tiger prawns and choo chee pla, fish smothered in a sweet, aromatic red curry.

Second place: Green Basil

Green Basil specializes in making traditional Thai dishes with innovative twists, choosing to cook with local and sustainably harvested ingredients whenever possible. Be sure to check out their specialty menu, which consists of enticing dishes like white wine and lemongrass mussels, manila clams and deep fried tilapia served with a spicy, homemade sauce.

Third place: Siam Le Bien Thai Cuisine

Aiming to showcase Thailand’s rich cultural diversity, Siam Le Bien does exactly that through their dishes. Each one strikes a fine balance of each essential Thai flavour: sweet, sour, salty, spicy and umami. We’d highly recommend the crispy pork belly and red duck curry.
