Burnaby Readers’ Choice Awards: Best Vietnamese cuisine winners

Alright, Burnaby. We’ve announced the top restaurants from our 2023 Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Awards, presented by Tourism Burnaby. Now it’s time to highlight some more winners by category.

We’re breaking down the top three restaurant winners in each of the 32 categories included in this year’s awards, as voted by you.

Here are the winners of the best Vietnamese cuisine in Burnaby.

First place: The Viet Noodle Guy

If you’re scrolling down the long list of Vietnamese specialties offered at The Viet Noodle Guy, be rest assured there are no wrong answers. Their long list of noodle soups feature classics like beef brisket pho to house specials like seafood noodle soup and beef stew served with a crusty baguette, along with other vermicelli, rice and banh mi sandwiches which all look delicious.

Second place: Brokenrice Vietnamese Restaurant

Aiming to celebrate all of what Vietnamese cuisine has to offer, Brokenrice emphasizes using fresh, local ingredients to create traditional Vietnamese dishes with modern cookware. Some of their most popular items include a spicy hue lemongrass noodle soup, duck confit sliders and three-way pork—shredded, minced and chopped.

Third place: B&D Authentic Viet Cuisine

Specializing in modern Vietnamese dishes, B&D Authentic Viet Cuisine features an array of enticing dishes on their dinner menu like six-hour braised duck noodle, grilled pork vermicelli and beef hot pot for two. They’ve also got a fantastic selection of vegetarian dishes, like mekong curry and lemongrass tofu, making it accessible for plant-based diets.
