Burnaby Readers’ Choice Awards: Best brewery winners

We’re continuing with our Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Award category winners

Alright, Burnaby. We’ve announced the top restaurants from our 2023 Beacon’s Readers’ Choice Awards, presented by Tourism Burnaby. Now it’s time to highlight some more winners by category.

We’re breaking down the top three restaurant winners in each of the 32 categories included in this year’s awards, as voted by you.

Here are the winners of the best brewery in Burnaby.

Opening their doors in 2013, Steamworks Brewery is now celebrating its 10th anniversary in Burnaby as a small, steam-powered brewery from the heart of Vancouver. Their taproom is open daily for beer tasting, featuring signature brews and new seasonal varieties. Some of their freshest flavours include a black currant sour and empress lemon.

Address: 3845 William St., Burnaby

Second place: Dageraad Brewing

Dageraad Brewing is a small-batch artisan brewery with a fondness for Belgian beer culture. Their 50-seat taproom aims to bring you right into the heart of Antwerp, both in the ambience and beer itself. Dangeraad owner Ben Coli remarks that it “doesn’t take grandeur in a brewery to make magic in a bottle”—though Dangeraad itself isn’t much to look at, the beer certainly speaks for itself.

Address: 3191 Thunderbird Cres. #114, Burnaby

Third place: Studio Brewing

With a spacious patio and indoor taproom, Studio Brewing is a popular summer destination for craft beers in Burnaby. Some of their limited series beers include a “south slope wit” witbier with notes of peach and tangernie as well as a “felix” brew with notes of espresso, bitter cacao and bread. They’ve got plenty of delicious food too, like gold fish and soft pretzels, that are perfect for snacking.

Address: 5792 Beresford St., Burnaby
